Zoo Lab
Recently the children enjoyed a visit from zoolab. There were all sorts of creatures for the children to "enjoy". There are several pictures for you to see on the gallery page, but for a taster, look at these!

Sport's day
Last Wednesday we had our annual sport's day. It was not too hot and quite windy, which was great for the competitors.
There were a great many races for the children as well as the "Mother's and Father's race". There was also the brothers and sisters race which is always fun to watch.
The children took part in running races for their year groups and also the slow bike race and the Year 6 water race. This always ends with the children "cooling off" with the left over water.
After the sporting events, there was the lovely cream teas served on the playground.
Here are some pictures of the children during the races, and also the shield and cup winners.

Please visit the gallery for more photograpsh of the races.
Elham Primary School’s ‘Fête Française’
France came to Elham C.E. Primary School this week, when the children all participated in their annual ‘Fête Française’ or French festival.
School uniform was replaced for a day by colourful clothes in red, white and blue, and the school hall was decorated with French flags and bunting.
Each class studied an aspect of French life such as Bastille Day, New Year or going to school, as well as developing their language skills.
Thursday morning saw the children enjoying PE lessons in French with a native French speaker. But the highlight, undoubtedly, for many of the children was a French afternoon tea – ‘le goûter’ – where they had the opportunity to sample different French foods such as baguette, pain au chocolat and fromage frais, all washed down with a ‘jus d’orange’.
On Friday afternoon, the chairwoman of the Elham Valley Twinning Association visited school to experience the festival. The Elham Valley is twinned with a group of villages in the Beaujolais area of France and association will shortly be visiting their friends in France. Photos of Elham School’s French festival will be taken to Beaujolais to be shared with the village primary schools in the area.
The French festival ended with a grandee finale – a sharing assembly to which the children’s parents and relatives were all invited. Each class was given the opportunity to present what they had learnt during the festival. Some sang, some danced, and all agreed that their French festival had been ‘fantastique’!
