Welcome back to school!

We  have started off with big numbers and are now counting all the way up to 50 and learning how to count in tens.  Our Maths learning area is an area we can go to during Early Morning Work to practise this.  You can also see that we have been learning about the seasons and months of the year.  We are learning about this in Science, but as this also comes under the topic of Maths we have put the childrens' mobiles up there too.  

In English we are reading a new book about a penguin.  He is rather naughty and has stolen William's glasses.

Maths

We continued with our counting in 10's today, we started at 0 and worked our way up to 100. It was a little challenging when we started at 20, 30 etc. We have also been working on how we say the numbers e.g thirty not thirteen, forty not fourteen. 

English

Today the children researched fact's about penguins, we made a whole class mind map before creating our own penguin fact files. We were very impressed by some of the facts the children already knew.
