Science
Our unit in Science this term is 'Everyday Materials'. Today year 1 and 2 were naming different materials and then sorting objects into groups based on the materials that they were made from.
We had fun designing our bauble Christmas Cards!
In English this week we have been learning about word classes. We have been focussing on nouns and the children really enjoyed having a noun hunt around the classroom!
In Maths we have been practising our number bonds to 10 and using them to add 3 numbers and to add to the next 10.

Black History Month
We spent the afternoon learning about 'Claudette Colvin' and how she became a civil rights activist. Ask your children to tell you all about her! They then made a bus collage using different patterns of paper to distinguish between the two sections on the bus. We then had a very thoughtful discussion about how we would have felt and acted in that situation.
