This week in topic we have been finding out about The Great Wall of China.

Mr File popped into our class to do some drama with the children. The children made a machine with each child being a different working part with their own movement and sound. This linked perfectly with The Dragon Machine book that we are reading!

In maths, the children have been introduced to the idea of flexible partitioning. So far, we have only partitioned numbers in a standard way. While there are numerous ways to partition numbers flexibly, the focus here is on “unbundling” 10s.
