What a busy week!
Tha children have been retelling the story of Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain using drama and props which they have painted themselves. The Year 1 children then drew their own Kapiti Plain and added simple sentences.
A strange bird has arrived in our class! The reception children have been outside finding things to build a nest for the bird. The Year 1 children have been thinking about the instructions we can give to build the nest. Everyone enjoyed making a pair of binoculars for bird watching!
Science
Today the children carried out a taste test to see if they could identify which foods were sweet, salty, sour or bitter. They then recorded their findings in a table using some amazing descriptive words. Everyone couldn't wait to taste the cocoa powder as it looked so chocolatey and smelt delicious. We had some brilliant faces when they realised how bitter it actually is!!
