This week in Nightingale class we began reading our new writing text which is The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. The children have thought about and used a number of literary devices - such as: similies, subordinate clauses and fronted adverbials. I am pleased to say they have produced some really high quality bits of writing. Including, diary entries in role as Hogarth.

In geography we have continued our exploration of Antarctica. This week, we have focused on the explorer Ernest Shackleton. We were very lucky to watch some restored film footage that was taken by the crew on board The Endurance back in 1915!
