Today's question in history 'What is a holiday?' sparked some fantastic conversations and questioning amongst the children. Thank you to all of those who brought in their holiday pictures, we had so many that we ran out of time to discuss them all! Not to worry though as we will keep them safe and everyone will get a chance to talk about theirs.
The children then went off and each contributed to a group table top drawing of their favourite holiday memories.
In English this week, we started to read our book 'The Journey Home'. We have discovered that the story is about some animals who are searching for a new home together because sadly, their own habitats are disapearing or being destroyed. We have been thinking about different word classes like nouns and verbs and have been learning how to convert verbs from the present to the past tense.
In Maths, we have started to think about numbers on a numberline. We have learnt a new term 'intervals' and have been learning that it is very important to know what each interval on a numberline is worth - they're not all the same!
In RE, Potter Class and Year 1 Farrah Class have been learning about the story of creation in the bible. They have been using instruments and art work to express their thoughts, emotions and ideas!
