We started our week outside in the glorious autumn sunshine! We were investigating trees for English! We found lots of different types of trees in the school ground, including a pear, apple, sycamore, the list goes on! We looked at the differences between the trees and collected some leaves and seeds to examine in class. In our writing, we have used adjectives to describe the leaves of different trees.
We have started to read our new book: House Held up by Trees and we're enjoying it already!
In Maths we have been practising counting in 2's, 5's and 10's, please practise this at home when you hame some time!

We have also started practising for Harvest Festival! The children have painted some amazing pictures of their favourite fruit and veg! They have written a sentence to read out in church to celebrate the Harvest.
Art
The year 2 children spent the afternoon looking at all different shades of green. We sorted objects and pom poms before having a go at mixing our primary colours blue and yellow to make as many different shades of green as we could. The children also learnt the word 'hue' see if they can remember what it means!
They then drew around their hands and had a go at experimenting with the different 'hues' of green they had made.
