The children have been thinking about the good news that Jesus brings to people who are often not accepted in society.  The children thought of the following people who are not accepted: Matthew the Tax Collector, Herrod and The Lost Son (from the bible), as well as thieves, bullies, burglars and people who spoil the environment.

We have looked at different ways of making ten.  We don't need to count some because we KNOW they are ten!

Maths

We have continued with our learning of teen numbers, the children have now looked at all the numbers between 10 and 20 and made them using different manipulatives. We have completed part - whole models of these numbers and tried to match numerals to written numbers.

English

Today we looked at fiction and non-fiction books. The children had to look at the differences between the two categories and see if they could name some of the features in a non-fiction book. They then worked together and used their new knowledge to sort out the big pile of fiction and non-fiction books that had all been muddled up!
