When the children came back into class after break they were shocked to see that there were cave drawings all over the classroom! They have been looking for clues...
The children have ordered numbers to 20, starting first with the smallest and then with the greatest.
The children have learnt that Gospel means 'Good News'. They have thought about the good news (peace, friendship, forgiveness) Jesus brought when he came to us and they have thought about present day life and how we could help the poor and friendless.
In maths we are counting on to 20. I thought it might help if we used a bus and got on one at a time, but the children forgot their manners!!! No queue, no orderly getting on the bus - it was like being in Italy.
In gymnastics this week the children have been practising different types of jumps: tuck jumps, pencil jumps and star jumps.

We all worked really well in our groups, adding captions to our pictures from 'The Cave Baby'. We then acted out the story switching roles between the story teller, animals and other characters.

Germs! Germs! and more Germs!
Today the children looked at what germs are and how we can stop them spreading. We then had a go at the germ experiment (this included a lot of glitter) to see how easily and quickly germs are spread. The children were amazed!
We then had a go at washing our hands in cold water - no soap and warm water with soap to see which one was the better option to remove germs.
