This week all  our reading books are being sorted out, so the children will not be bringing any of them home.  Instead we are sending home a fairy tale, for you to read to them, with them or for them to read to you.

We are measuring 'mass' this week - in other words we are measuring how heavy or light things are.  We  have started off by just using the words heavier and lighter but will more onto measuring the weight of classroom objects.

In Art we have been weaving!  The children looked at the weave in their clothes with magnifying glasses and learned the words 'wape' and 'weft' and then had a go at weavng paper.

We have been learning the past tense of verbs!

The children are practising their (and listening) basketball skills.

The children have come to the end of their art this term.  They put all their attempts at threading, knotting, tying , winding and wrapping together on a loom to form an abstract work of art.

Maths

We have continued to look at volume and capacity in maths this week. We have looked at the words, full, nearly full. half, nearly empty and empty. The children had great fun outside in the sunshine following these instructions with the sand and water.
