What another busy week! The children have been working very hard in maths looking at equivalent fractions and perimeter.  After measuring the perimeter of the chicken coop last week, this week we looked at using the formula 4 x a = p to find the perimeter of a square. They have continued their learning in English by extending sentences with subordinate clauses and summarising a chapter of The Iron Man.

Our science investigation into what plants need to grow well is to continue into next week and the children are checking the plants each day and recording what they can see.  We will be growing a bucket of potatoes as a class to enter into the Elham Gardening Society show in the summer and three children were picked at random to grow some at home to enter too on behalf of the class.

This afternoon we were lucky to be visited by some of the chicks! It was lovely to see how much they have grown and how they are now able to fly. Some of them even climbed onto some laps!

Have a lovely weekend!
