Friday 22nd May

Good morning Oak Class!

Friday has come around once again, so you will find this week's spelling test below along with the spellings to learn over the half-term break (some more Year 7 words).  Fingers crossed that we may be able to do our next spelling test together again in school. If not, I will continue to record each week's test and will upload it here as normal.

Please read Mrs Short's note from yesterday about half-term and have a look below at Ivy and Sarah's e-safety posters - send yours over please if you have done one too. Have a wonderful week everyone - I hope you enjoy doing some lovely things with your families.

Stay safe.

Thursday 21st May

Hello Oak Class

I hope you are all well and finding time to be outside in this lovely weather.

Because it should be a holiday next week we are not going to set you any additional work for that week. If you would like you can go back over the home learning we have already set and catch up on any bits you have missed or you can have the whole week off!!

Mrs Godden and I will still be available to answer emails.

As you know there is a possibility some of you may return to school on June 1st. We are working very hard to put a plan in place so we can be back in school in the safest way possible. For those of you not coming into school, the home learning may look a bit different from what you are used to.

When we know for sure what is happening we will update you.

Have a lovely week off and well done for all the fantastic work you have done at home. I know it's not been easy and you should all be very proud of what you have been able to achieve!

Take care and love to you and your families

Mrs Short xx

Hello Oak Class

As usual, you have all been very busy. Below you will find a picture and video of Grace learning to play the electric guitar (there must be enough musicians in the class to create a small orchestra!) and if you click here you will find a super 50th Birthday card that Sarah has created with html coding using Trinket (a project from www.codeclub.org which I suggested you try last week) - https://trinket.io/html/92dec19b35?e=1

Keep your work coming in and enjoy the lovely sunshine today.

Good morning Oak Class

We hope that you have all enjoyed the weekend and are ready for the last week before our half-term break. It was great to see so much of your work being sent in last week, so please do keep emailing us so that we can see how well you are doing.

Remember to keep reading every day and completing book quizzes as often as you can. Also, practise your spelling each day and do a little Prodigy maths when you have time.

Please scroll down to find this week's lessons. If you have any questions, just ask us - we are here to help.

Have a great week and stay safe.

Mrs Short and Mrs Godden xx

Science

This week you are learning about a healthy lifestyle. You will be looking at diet and exercise. The resources are below.

Topic

You have all been working really hard on your country projects and I last week i was really interested to learn about artists I had not heard of before. Some of you did some excellent art in the style of your artists too.

This week I would like you to research a famous place in your country. It could be a building, a town or city, a landmark or geographical feature or a tourist attraction. I would like you to write about it and then send me your completed work ,you can add pictures too.

RE

Last week we completed our unit on Salvation and we will be starting a new unit on The Kingdom of God in Term 6. So, for this week, I would like to investigate the importance of Pentecost to Christians (as this followed shortly after the resurrection of Jesus). Use the PowerPoint below and then complete the comprehension (use the three star sheets please). You can use the answer sheets to check how you have done once you have completed your comprehension work.

French

You may continue with Duolingo if you wish. However, if you would like to try a short project in French instead, have a look at these videos and choose one to follow. There is one for each year group, but I would suggest the year 5 or or 6 projects would suit you best, but if you want to start with a year 3 or 4 project, that is fine. https://www.cavelanguages.co.uk/schemes-of-work (Scroll down to NEW Home Learning Lessons).

Computing

This week I would like you all to focus on e-safety by following the Thinkuknow activity sheet below. Please email me your finished posters - I would love to see them.

Once you have finished this, if you would like to try another html coding project, then click here and try either Tell a story or Wanted! https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/codeclub/webdev-module-1
