Silver Birch looked fantastic on Friday in their bright clothes to celebrate World Kindness Day. There were lots of smiles all round!
We spent the day thinking about showing kindness not only to others, but also to ourselves. We listened to the story Have you filled a bucket today? by Carol McCloud. This tells a story of everyone carrying an invisible bucket that can be filled with kindness by ourselves and others. It also talks about how you feel if you or someone else dips into your bucket by being unkind. The children were very thoughtful in their discussions and after making their own buckets added some kindness to each others buckets. We also made a class bucket so the children can add to that when they feel or see someone showing kindness.
