Hello Everyone!

The final week of term has been a very busy one for Oak class. As well as our normal weekly lessons, we have enjoyed some other fun activities too.

On Thursday, we were lucky enough to have Molly Davis, the Kent Community Cricket Coach, visit school to teach every class some cricket skills. We were enjoying our coaching very much, despite the bitter cold, when we had to abandon it due to a very heavy hail storm!  Luckily, Molly said she would be able to visit us again before the end of the school year - hopefully when the weather is kinder to us!

On Friday morning, we made our Easter baskets by weaving thin strips of cards - see the photos of our finished craft below. Some of us found it trickier than others, but we all ended up with beautiful baskets which were then filled with Easter chocolate treats for us to take home.

Mrs Short and Mrs Godden were very pleased to see so many of our parents come to Wednesday's class drop-in to have a look at our books and to catch up with our teachers on our progress.

Finally, we ended Term 5 with a special assembly where Rev. Deb blessed the seven silver birch trees which have been planted on the field to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee. The assembly was due to happen outside, but as the weather that day had thrown snow and hail at us we had to celebrate in the hall instead. It was lovely to see so many parents sharing our assembly for the first time in over two years!   Each class spent a few minutes on a presentation to do with the trees or the platinum jubilee - there were songs and poems and Oak class did a great job of reading out four poems about trees. There are some photos below.

We hope you have a great time during the Easter holidays and we look forward to seeing you all again in Term 5.

Best wishes

Mrs Godden and Mrs Short
