This week we've started our multiplication and division unit in maths, using these calculations to increase and decrease our numbers by 10, 100 and 1000 times.  We wrote a formal letter to a parent of a disobedient child as a headmistress in 1922 when times and attitudes were quite different, as were punishments in school!  We then wrote a diary entry as this child having spoken to her father after the letter was sent home.  In topic we learnt about the religion in Ancient Egyptian times, as there were thousands of different Gods that they worshipped, we only focused on the main ones and what they represented.  In art, ready for the school art gallery, we made some impressive winter mosaic trees.  This also helped us to practice our cutting skills!  In music we learnt a few different tunes on the recorder.  In RE we looked at what some Christians believe is the true meaning of Christmas beyond the tinsel, turkey and commercialism!  We watched a few different TV adverts, and have begun to plan our own.
