What a wild and windy week we've had!

It hasn't stopped us learning more about the Romans, writing recounts and using multiplication and division in word problems though!

Unfortunately today we couldn't get outside for breaks and the children have been very patient - they have really enjoyed watching a TV series about Walking the Roman Roads of Britain whilst eating their lunches this week and have been engrossed in a dot-to-to puzzle of the Leaning Tower of Pisa during their wet playtimes!

I have had several emails regarding children's learning and requests for extra homework. The school policy for KS2 is for children to read every day, practise times tables, and spellings which are set and tested every week (these can be found on the class webpage). Unfortunately I am unable to set personalised homework for every child, but as ever would advise that they practise their spellings  and times tables - being able to use these in division problems and word problems is the next step for those who are already fluent. Reading is the key to all our learning throughout schooling, so reading and enjoying a book at an appropriate level is key. If there is still time in the day, Mr File has posted some useful links for additional home learning under "Home Learning" on the website! Thank you for your continued support with your child's learning.

We will be having parent consultations next term, so I look forward to discussing individual children and their progress with you then.

I hope you have a super weekend, let's hope the weather perks up!

Lunchtime in Beech class!
