This week in English the children have been studying a poem about perseverance. It's called 'The King and The Spider' and the children have looked at the different features of the poem - rhyming words, verses - as well as thinking about the different characters. Today was very exciting as the children worked in groups to perform one verse of the poem. Before they started they thought about how they could make their performance memorable using the emotion in the poem to direct their speech and actions to bring the story to life. Looking at the videos below I'm sure you will agree they did a fantastic job!

In maths we have been doubling by partitioning and recombining as well as looking at multiplication and division facts of the 2, 5, and 10 times tables. We have been writing number sentences for these times tables and also to go with an array - can your child show you what this is?
Year 3 enjoyed their first trip to forest school this year and are looking forward to making hot chocolate next week! Meanwhile Year 4 have begun a special project on Stonehenge. They came up with some amazing suggestions as to why it was built. I look forward to seeing how their projects progress.
