Term 6

Week 2

Week ending 18.6.21

It was Book Week!  The children looked splendid on Dressing-up Day on Friday, with very imaginative costumes on our theme of 'Journeys and stories from other lands'.

We enjoyed a visit from Steve Clifford on Monday.  He is a local author, who inspired the children to draw a picture of what was behind the waterfall.  They went on to make a story map for the competition. He told them his version of The Ugly Duckling, with funny voices, which the children loved!

On Thursday, we had a visit from Emma Rosen, another local author, who read her book 'Lily the Limpet'. It was very interesting to hear how she came to write the story and how her sister-in-law came to illustrate it.

Finally, on Friday,' Tales from the Book of Life', with Ramona on the harp, violin and penny whistle and Captain Pete telling a dramatic story, entertained the class!  The children loved acting out the scenes and he was very impressed with their interpretive skills!

Please remember to send your sponsor money to Read for Good, if you are taking part!
