We have been so impressed with you this week Jacob. You have been focused and ready to learn and you have contributed superbly in our class discussions. Your knowledge of your times tables is impressive and you are able to reason and problem solve. We were so proud of your fabulous entry into the Elham's Got Talent competition - you are an amazing pianist. Well done Jacob!

Our chicks!
We came into school this morning to find the eggs had hatched! The chicks have now been moved from the incubator into a larger cage in Mr File's office and are doing well.
In Art this term we are focusing on nature sculpture. The children will have the opportunity to learn about different kinds of nature sculptures and to explore the work of Andy Goldsworthy and other environmental artists. Each lesson in the unit focuses on a different technique using natural materials; model making, observational drawing, collecting material, ephemeral land art and group sculpture building.
Today we talked about what sculptures are and where we have seen them. We then used clay to make models of natural objects.
Welcome back to a lovely sunny term 5!
Great excitement today because we have chickens eggs in an incubator and one hatched! We were so busy doing our learning we didn't even notice until Mr File came in and pointed it out to us. As you can imagine, that was the end of our learning!
If you would like to see what the children are learning this term, take a look at our curriculum map. This week the children have enjoyed investigating materials that float and sink, in preparation for designing a boat that floats.
They have written letters to each other, saying what they like about each other. Great fun was had when they read out their letters... what a lot of compliments!!!
Beans have been planted and the children know what seeds need in order to germinate.
We have started learning about fractions, and found different ways to make half of quantities, shapes and numbers.
