Welcome back to Term 2 where we have exciting seasonal things happening, and our class visit to the cinema.

This week we started our multiplication and division unit in maths, where we were using powers of 10 to calculate.  We had to think about our numbers getting bigger or smaller, and by how many times the digits moved on the place value grid.  In English we started our new text, The Boy with the Bronze Axe.  We discussed why we choose a book to read, made predictions and analysed character's personalities.  We had a great debate over a character's dilemma, in which the children worked collaboratively in groups to share opinions, and then argued their points in a really sensible and interesting manner.  In science we started our unit on forces, looking at different types of forces, and in computing, started our unit on developing games using Scratch.  In music we began our Rock and Roll unit and learnt to hand jive.  The children really enjoyed this, and were fabulous dancers!
