We have spent lots of time practising writing our numbers this week. A common feature is for children to write their numbers starting from the bottom of the number, which is wrong. If you get the chance please practise with your child at home! Thank you
The children used bead strings to work out one more than a number.
In Science the children are learning how to sort animals into groups according to their properties, for example 'legs' and 'scaly skins' , 'lays eggs' and 'has a tail'.
We have introduced the children to the different parts of a computer/laptop and now they are honing their trackpad skills. They created pictures using Paint and investigated all the different tools on the app. We have also suggested they have a little go at home if there are family laptops!
Forest Fun!
A lovely afternoon was spent in the woods. The children went on a hunt, finding different items to tie on to their journey stick.
Music
We have been looking at rhythm and pulse in music and how we can use different parts of our bodies to help with this. The children all had a go at clapping out their name and counting how many syllables there were. All children soon picked up the repetition of the rhythm.
