Star of the Week

This weeks star of the week is Rose.

You have had a fantastic week. You are always ready to learn and listen on the carpet. We love how enthusiastic you are about your learning. I loved reading your story of the Three Little Pigs today which you had written independently. You are a kind and caring member of our class.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful book about the artist Frida Kahlo too! Well done Rose.

Here are our Merit Badge winners for this week.

Well done to you both for writing fantastic independent stories of the Three Little Pigs.

In Science this term we are finding out about plants.

Today the children thought about what a plant actually is, how it grows and what it needs to grow.

We talked about how different seeds grow into different plants. The children then planted some cress seeds. We gave them plenty of water and they were placed in a sunny spot in the classroom. We also put some cress seeds in the cupboard to see if they would grow without sunlight, we put some seeds outside to see if they would grow in a colder temperature and then planted some cress seeds without any water. The children are excited to see what will happen!

The ducklings have come back to visit us for the afternoon!  They are a week old now and have tripled in size.

We are describing the Big Bad Wolf, using adjectives.  We are learning to put adjectives into sentences.

We are beginning to look at the events leading up to Easter in RE.  This week the children learnt about Palm Sunday.  Mr Dougal kindly modelled how to make a palm leaf cross to the children and then they role played Jesus' arrival into Jerusalem.
