Week beg: 24.02.25
Welcome back to Term 4, the lead up to Easter and the start of spring.
Welcome back to our student teacher Eloise Hunt from Christchurch University who will be working and doing a small amount of teaching this term and next. The children have made her feel very welcome.
This week we started the next fraction unit in maths by multiplying integers with fractions, which the children have gained a secure understanding of. We started our new guided reading text; Tamarind and the Star of Ishta, which seems very mysterious with a sad back story. We have finished our text of the Tempest in english, in which the children have written some super playscripts based on their own versions of the story. In RE we started our Christian concept of Salvation and have started to consider our big question of, 'Why do Christians call the day Jesus dies Good Friday?' We thought about his mother Mary's viewpoint on all that happened during Holy week. Sadly we were unable to go to Forest school this week, so instead we did some research on facts about India. In french, we have started to learn some words for different vegetables, and discovered that most of them are similar to our English words.
Have a lovely weekend, and see you all on Monday.
Mrs Hall and Miss Laslett.
