Welcome back to school, we hope you had a lovely break and a Happy New Year to you all!

English

We started our new book today "Astro Girl". The children came in from playtime to find a backpack left in the classroom, it contained a rocket, a globe, some packets of food and a picture of stars! We think it may belong to Astrid, the girl in our story. The children wrote statements in their books about Astrid  after looking at the front cover. We will have to wait and see if our predictions are right!

Topic

Our theme over the next two terms will be travelling and transport. We will be looking at how this has changed over time. The first question the children were asked in groups "What Is Transport?" They worked together in groups to see if they could make a mind map of all the different modes of transport they knew already. 

Maths

We continued our learning about 2D shapes today, the children recapped the names of the shapes and then made different patterns.
