Last week the children learnt the difference between capacity and volume (and so did their teachers!).  Capacity is how much a container can hold, volume is how much liquid is in the container.  Today the children worked practically, filling containers with different volumes of water and putting them in order: empty, nearly empty, half empty/full, nearly full and full.  Then they estimated how many beakers they needed to fill a jug and filled it to see if their predictions were correct.

The children had a special cricket lesson today.  There were only nine of them so they had lots of turns at everything!  As always their behaviour was great with our visitor.  The children learnt different skills: rolling, catching, fielding and hitting the ball.

We all had a fabulous time at the tearooms decorating our cupcakes. We were so well behaved again that Sharon said we can come back and bake some cookies next time.

Class Assembly

Hazel Class were amazing in their class assembly. All the children spoke clearly and confidently and remembered their parts really well.

Last Day of Term

The children loved making their Easter cakes, hopefully they will make it home to you in one piece! Some of us have tasted them already as the temptation of licking the spoon was just too much!!

We enjoyed some yummy toasted hot cross buns for our snack as a treat.

Excitement hit after snack time! We left the classroom to play a game in the hall and when we came back chocolate eggs had been hidden all around the room by the Easter Bunny, we spent ages searching everywhere for them. He had also eaten all the carrots off the snack tray!!
