Last week of term and Book Week! Book Week is always fun because we get to share our favourite books, listen to people who write books and see performances. We have had a great time with Ian acting out some of the Eric Carle stories we were reading earlier in the term.
Can you guess what book we were working on here?
Another nice thing that happens around half term is that some of last year's Year Sixes come in to work with us. We welcomed back Sabine, who used to be a buddy when we were in Acorns. She explained to us everything she knew about the Big Frieze in RE (art work about the bible).
This week we have finished of our geography and science units of work by going out into Elham and checking the places we put on our maps last week and thinking about what we could see, hear and smell as we moved from place to place.
In maths we have been learning how to add two numbers together using the 'part/part/whole' model. It has finally clicked!

Iris' mummy is an illustrator and she came into school and showed her beautiful work to each class!
We had a visit from Jo Clarke today who is the author of the book "Spellboda". She really got us using our imaginations as we had to picture a snow covered wood in our minds.
Hazel Class, your costumes were all amazing!!
WOW!! What an amazing day we have had. The children absolutely loved making their own lunch, we definitely have more than a few budding chefs amongst us!
Have a fabulous half term everyone and we will see you all next term.
