Silver Birch class have been working hard on counting up to subtract eg 104-98=  we count up to 100 which is 2, then count up 4, then we add together 2+4

Some of the children are finding this really tricky as they're not confident with their number bonds to 10. Please help your child to practise using their own fingers (since they will always have them with them!)

We continued to make our roundhouses this week and today wrote a set of instructions for others to follow. The children did well remembering to use bossy verbs in their instructions. Well done!

In DT we have continued our torch design project and today we looked at circuits and switches. The children enjoyed lighting up the bulb and making different switches to join and break the circuit so that the light did not remain on.

The children are starting to think about their own torch design so may want to have a look around at home for any materials that might be useful. These can start coming into school from next week in a named bag please.
