Topic
The children worked in groups using evidence to work out why the Great Fire burnt down so many houses.
Design & Technology
In preparation for building their ferris wheel, the children had a go at making a wheel using wooden sticks. They were thinking about how to make the structure strong and sturdy as well as discussing how they will attach the pods to make sure the people on the wheel don't go upside down!
Computing
The children used the Bee-Bots to predict the outcome of a sequence.
Design and Technology
In preparation for their final build, the children had a go at making a wheel using appropriate materials.
Science
We have been discussing waterproof materials and their uses. The children have been investigating the absorbency of fabrics and considering how the fabric can be made waterproof. We used wax crayons on the fabric to investigate.
English
We have been looking at pictures of Milo from different stages/weathers in the story (rainy, sunny, stormy, snowy) and discussing how weather can be used to depict people's mood.
