This week in Maths we have continued to revisit our written methods for calculating for the 4 different operations.  We feel much more secure with them, and are able to use up to 7 digit numbers and decimals.  In English we have written our newspaper reports about the conditions of the workhouse.  We then edited these and wrote them out neatly for display.  We ensured we used exaggeration, speech and emotional language to make the reader feel disgusted with what was happening in these awful places.  Year 4s started their swimming lessons and were very impressive with their confidence, skills and perseverance in the water.  In RE we learnt about the religion of Islam and what beliefs they have, including how they worship the 5 pillars of Islam.  We continued with learning some German language, naming colours this week.  We compared the words to those in English and the ones we have learnt in French too.  In Topic we researched different Victorian inventions, and how in this era the country became industrialised and technology was rapidly developing.
