Star of the Week

This weeks star of the week is Feliks.

You have had a fabulous week this week, you have returned to school after the holidays ready to learn. During independent work you have been focused and completed your work. When sequencing the story of The Three Little Pigs your finished work was really pleasing. During playtime you have shown kindness towards others.

We are proud of you Feliks and you should feel very proud of yourself, well done!

In English today the children helped to tell the story of The Little Pigs using a talk for writing story map. See if your child can remember the story using the story map to help them. The children were fabulous at coming up with the actions to help memorise the story.

In maths the children used practical equipment to represent numbers to 50. They continued to build their understanding that ten ones can be grouped into one ten.  It is important that the children understand how a number is made up of tens and ones, e.g. 34 = 3 tens and 4 ones.

The children are really enjoying having our fluffy friends in class!

We have ducks in class!.  They are incubating at the moment, although one has already been born.  When their feathers have dried off they will be transferred from their incubator into a special cage and they should stay with us all next week!

This term in English we are looking at traditional tales.  To start with we have chosen the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf.

Every day the children will have the opportunity to build a home for the pigs, out of straw, sticks or bricks.  We are using this as an opportunity for seeing how well the children can work together.  This is Day 1... it can only get better!
