This week in Maths we have been continuing to find missing numbers in a column method calculation or to balance an equation.  We discussed the importance of checking for accuracy and using an inverse operation to ensure our answer makes sense.  In English, we started our new text; Street Child.  So far we have written descriptions and used persuasive and comparative language.  The text is based in the Victorians, and centered on a small boy and his family who are down on their luck for many reasons.  We have continued with our topic of the Victorians by discovering what a Census is, when they were introduced in Britain and why.  We investigated some clues about a famous family, who turned out to be the Lilywhites of London.  In RE, we began our Hinduism unit and found out what their faith and beliefs are based on; the idea of reincarnation and Karma.  We have done cricket twice this week; once with Molly on Monday and again with the coaches on Wednesday.  On Thursday, Year 5 had Forest school and did some forest bathing!  Year 4s completed their second session of SRE; discussing changes to our bodies during puberty.

Have a lovely long weekend.
