In Art today the children have made beautiful Chinese Lanterns.
The children loved playdoh Friday this morning!
Today Willows started a new scheme of writing around the book The Dragon Machine (by Helen Ward), which tells the story of a young, overlooked boy who becomes aware of dragons hiding all around him. There was lots of excitement as the children spotted dragons and dragon tails all around the school!
In Topic, the children have started to find out about China. Today we talked about what they already knew about China and also the things they would like to find out during this topic (the list is very long!). We travelled to China on an aeroplane (via Google Earth) to find the location of China and discovered it is a long way from Elham in the continent of Asia and the capital city is Beijing.
Mrs Collins has been to China and talked about her time there which sounded so exciting. She also showed the children two special hats from China which the children were lucky enough to try on!
