All the children had a go at making a jewish 'Tzedakah Box' in our RE lesson today. Ask your children what these boxes are for and where you might find them? We hope they can remember!
Maths
The Hazel Class shop was open for business today! The children really impressed us with their ability to count in coins to see if they had enough money to buy something. We even looked at different ways to make the total amount using a range of coins.
Ukranian Day!
Wow, what a wonderful day we have had!
We started the day with a very moving assembly looking at the different parts of Ukraine that our Ukranian children have come from. A small choir came to sing for us, they met when they arrived in the U.K and have been friends ever since.
Mrs Baliuk wrote our names in Ukranian, we had a lovely game trying to guess which one was ours. We all learnt how to count to 6 as well.
In the afternoon Dasha's mum came in to show us how to make dumplings stuffed with potato and onion known as 'Varenyk'. The children were really good at this and absolutely loved eating them.
We have had a very busy but amazing day!! We are very grateful to our Ukranian families and Mrs Baliuk for organising this all for us.
