Creating circuits to light up a lamp in DT
This week we started our story planning in English. We thought about the different stages of a story, and the techniques we could use to make our stories atmospheric, intriguing and full of suspense and tension. In Maths we worked on short multiplication using a column method and data sorting onto graphs. We started our DT unit of lights and torches with Mr Foreman. The children loved exploring the circuits, and they made one that lit up 5 bulbs all at once. The children created some lovely images and wrote some thoughtful carol verses in RE, using words from John's gospel. We learnt about the Bronze Age boat that was discovered in Dover 30 years ago. The boat is 3600 years old, and is the oldest discovered vessel in the world! In Computing we programmed codes into a Logo program to draw digits. This was a real challenge; thinking about directions and angles. We had a service of Remembrance on Thursday to reflect on the men in the past that went to war and fought for our country and our freedom.
Have a lovely weekend,
