Whole School Meals & Packed Lunches
Whole School Meals provides our lunches. Their driving force is to feed school children well, using high-quality, local, fresh ingredients (Salvatori Butchers in Whitstable supply all their meat).
Their meals include the option of a hot lunch (either meat or vegetarian) or a jacket potato, and a sample menu can be found below. The children order lunches during morning registration.
These meals are free to all children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 as they are classified as 'Universal Free School Meals'. However, once children enter Key Stage 2, lunches will need to be paid for using our online payment system, School Money. They are currently £2.41 per meal; however, on 1 January 2024, there will be a slight increase in cost to £2.45.
Packed Lunches
Alternatively, children are welcome to bring their own packed lunch to school. Please endeavour to provide healthy options such as a sandwich, cucumber sticks/tomatoes, yoghurt and fruit, and limit the amount of chocolate and crips included in these lunches. Please do not send in fizzy drinks.
The Government also offers Free School Meals for eligible children (this is entirely separate from Universal Free School Meals). More information can be found in the link marked Free School Meals.
