History
Our curriculum intent for learning in History
At Elham it is our intent that through high-quality teaching and exciting lessons, pupils will gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. They will be curious to find out more about the past and understand how it has shaped the world we live in today. They will be equipped to ask perceptive questions, use evidence, and think critically. Where possible, we will participate in workshops, use evidence and artefacts and go on visits relevant to our topics.
Through an understanding of the past we will learn to understand the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups as well as have a growing understanding of our own identity and context.
