Star of the week

This weeks star of the week is Oak.

It is great to see you back and you have had a fantastic week. You are taking great care with your writing and have worked really well independently this week making changes to our non-fiction text with some great word choices. You have enjoyed Maths and worked hard to complete your work about the Months of the Year. You were so focused today when making your vehicle. You were prepared and knew exactly what to do to make a fabulous car!

You are a superstar Oak. Well done.

Merit Badges this week go to:

Emily for working well independently - keep it up!

Rose for always having a really positive attitude to her learning.

Design & Technology

The children had a great time making their vehicles today and are looking forward to showing them to you!

Dear Parents,

The children tell us that they have not been accessing the work that we put up for them on Google Class, so we  have made the decision to stop for the moment.  If you would like to catch up with your child this week or over the half term holiday there is lots of work you can choose from on Google Class.

Kind regards,

Rosie Shepherd & Alex Grady

Today the children took part in a fun drama session with Ian from Kic theatre. The theme of the session focused on this terms topic of toys. The children were toy detectives and had to look for clues to guess a variety of toys that Ian was describing (a ball, jack in the box, yo-yo, plane, rag doll, steam train and a kite). They then used their bodies and faces to become these toys! It was great fun!

We are spending our last week in Maths focusing on time, including the days of the week and the months of the year.  Most children are able to say the days of the week in order, but the months of the year is another story!!!  5 team points will be awarded to any child who can say the months of the year in order when they come back to school next term!

For Safer Internet Day the children discussed whether doing certain things on-line were safe or not.  They seem very savvy and able to make good decisions.  We read an on-line story about a duck who risked making bad choices and the children saw what the consequences were.

This week sees the end of our rapping.  The children have listened to lots of different raps and have been honing the rap 'Hey You!'

Hey You!

Your children will have brought home some lovely art work based on the work of Kandinsky.  They created their pictures using Paint and have made amazing  progress with this over the last six weeks!
