Hello Team Willow!
I hope you are all well.
Happy St. George's Day - the patron saint of England. Perhaps you could make a flag to decorate your window to celebrate! Can you find out about St. George - why was he made a saint? What is he famous for doing?
It is also the anniversary of William Shakespeare' birthday in 1564 and also the day he died in 1616. This is the beginning of one of my favourite poems:
'Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Shakespeare's Sonnet 18
Shakespeare invented over 422 new words, wrote over 40 plays and wrote 154 sonnets ( a special type of poem). What a clever man! Can you name one of his plays? Which character did you dress up as during Book Week? Maybe you could put your costume on today, in celebration of his birthday!
This is set to be the warmest day of the week, so get outside and enjoy the sunshine! The RSPB have a daily Wild Challenge, which you may enjoy:https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-and-learning/for-families/family-wild-challenge/.
Did you see the meteor shower and the Elon Musk satellites? On Tuesday, we saw at least 20 satellites going over the house and then yesterday we saw the rocket go over! It was amazing! You can still see them today and tomorrow.
Joke of the day: What do you call a dinosaur that is sleeping? A dino-snore!
Maths Word problem: I am half way between 10 and 20. What am I ?
Chain Letters: How many words can you make out of 'sale', by just changing the first letter?
Have a lovely day - keep washing and anti-baccing!
Love,
Mrs. Ferguson x

Good Morning Willows!
Another beautiful morning - the sun has got his hat on again!
I hope you are all well and able to go outside and use your senses to admire all the flowers, listen to the birds and smell the cut grass (I hope you are not suffering from hayfever, like my daughter!).
Joke of the day: What kind of tree fits in your hand? A palm tree!
Maths Word problem: For a school trip children are put into 10 groups. Each group has 6 children. How many children go on the trip?
Chain letters: How many words can you make from the word 'face', just by changing the first letter?
Do check out the attachments below: Mrs. Godden has sent a computing project for the term - it looks great fun!
Have a lovely day!
Love,
Mrs. Ferguson x
Dear Willows,
I hope you are all well!
I was in school yesterday, with Mrs Collins - it is very strange without you! I was looking around the class, picturing you sitting at your desk - we do miss you!
Joke of the day: What do you call a droid that takes the long way round? R2 detour!
Maths Word Problem: Sammy has 41 books on her shelf and Tyrone has 38 on his shelf.
Who has more books? How many more?
Do remember to try TT Rock Stars and NumBots (they have the same login). If you have forgotten your login details just let me know.
I am pleased to see that many of you have completed the first part of Teach Your Monster to Read - well done!
BBC Bitesize gets better every day and has teamed up with Classroom Secrets - do have a dip in and see what there is.
I love hearing from you, so do tell me what you are up to and send pictures if you can.
I am going to prepare to read another story for you - I might even persuade Bouncer and Betsy to join me!
Lots of love,
Mrs.Ferguson x
