This week in maths we have been multiplying and dividing by multiples of 10, 100 and 1000. It was trickey knowing how many zeros were needed in the answers. We investigated multiples and the rules that can help us to identify multiples when they are past the 12 times tables. We began to think about writing our own mystery story in english, using the Roman mystery theme of our class text. We wrote setting descriptions using some really effective language, and discussed what makes exciting story openers to hook our readers in! In RE we leant about the 10 Gurus in Sikhism, what each one was known for and lit candles to show how they passed their love and light of God onto each other until the last one stated that the Guru Granth Sahib (Holy book) was the last Guru. They all told stories to help pass on messages of morals and values, and we leant some of these. In topic we learnt about how the Romans enjoyed their leisure time. Some things were similar to us, like going to the spa, visiting libraries and playing games. However, watching Gladiators fighting and being killed was deemed fun back then!!
Have a lovely weekend,
