This term our theme is Celebrations.  The children have the opportunity to go out into the roleplay corner every day and create a celebratory table for a party and write invitations.

Our story in English this term is Kipper's Birthday and the children have learned to tell the story orally using Talk4Writing.  Now they are writing their own stories, based on the story about Kipper but featuring  their own teddies.  Below is part of the story map of Kipper's Birthday, which most of the children know off by heart!

We have been continuing to look at money in maths.  This week children have been learning about the value of coins and different combinations of coins.  They have played shops and used coins to buy toys.

Hockey is proving to be really popular.  So far the children have learned how to hold the stick correctly and to strike and stop the ball.

Last week as an introduction to our topic this term we had a 'welcome back' party.  To prepare for this the children made party hats for their teddies and wraps with a filling of their choice.

A very special thanks to Mrs Greenwood, who made two absolutely delicious cakes for us!
