Forest School
The children had such fun at forest school today!
Topic
Today the children began to think about the motives of Scott and why he would risk his life going to the South Pole. The children worked in small groups with their own set of diamond shaped cards each containing a statement. The children's first job was to remove any cards they thought were irrelevant and didn't properly explain Scott's motivation. With the remaining 4 cards the children had to assemble the cards to make a 4 piece diamond shape of their own by placing what they believed to be the most important reason at the top, the next two as middle-ranking importance and the bottom one as the fourth most important. The depth and quality of the small group discusssion was the focus rather than there being the perfect right answer.
PE
Athletics in the sunshine today!
Design & Technology
The children have been identifying appropriate pieces of equipment to prepare food. They then had a go at cutting, snipping, grating and spreading a variety of foods.
Science
Today we have been finding out about microhabitats. We went for a walk on the field to find minibeasts and discussed the features of their microhabitat.
