A very warm welcome back to Term 2!
You will find everything we are learning about this term on our Curriculum Map.
The children returned to find a lovely new carpet and rug and were keen to wear their slippers. It really has made a difference and Mr Elgar will be delighted not to find mud all over the carpet!
However, we did notice that somebody seemed to have had a party in our classroom while we were on holiday... we still haven't got to the bottom of that...
This term in maths we are learning all about Fact Families (different ways you can write the same number sentence).
Our topic in Science is Animals and the children wrote down interesting facts they knew in their books about animals. They also drew wonderful pictures on their whiteboards!
We have had a visit from Jean, who works for Blue Cross animals, and she talked to the children all about how to look after dogs and other pets. She brought in her enormous dog Ralph!
Our learning in Topic this term will be about historical events that we celebrate. Today we looked at the reasons why we celebrate Guy Fawkes and why it is on the 5th November, ask your children if they can remember some of the key facts! We then got creative and had a go at making our own fireworks (without gunpowder of course).
