Star of the week
This weeks star of the week is Ella.
You have really impressed us so far this term Ella. Every morning you come in and settle quickly to complete your early morning maths task. In English this week you independently labelled our talk for writing story and in Maths you were able to rearrange a picture into the correct order by counting in fives.
During carpet time you have been sitting and listening beautifully. You are always helpful and kind to others. Well done Ella, keep it up!
As a school we have introduced Merit badges. Two badges are awarded in each class on a Friday. Children wear the badges for the week and then return them ready to be awarded to two other members of the class the following week.
Merit Badges this week go to:
Ella - for excellent independent work.
Dylan - for being a kind friend.
Today in English we have been rehearsing our talk for writing story Knuffle Bunny. We also looked at how the story is separated into different sections and how these sections give the story organisation and structure. We boxed the story into the different sections (opening, build-up, problem, resolution, ending) using colours and then the children labelled the sections of the story.
We are reading the story of Knuffle Bunny, which is a 'losing story'. The children are learning the story orally through Talk 4 Writing. In the clips below you can see them playing 'word tennis'!
