Star of the week

This weeks 'star of the week' in Hazel class is Ava.

Well done Ava you have worked so hard this week and really focused on learning the names of 2-D and 3-D shapes.

In Maths we made circle patterns using the face of a cylinder.
In Maths this week we are focusing on 2-D shapes. Today we looked at what shapes we could see on the surface of some 3-D shapes (circles, triangles, squares and rectangles). We then made giant shapes outside in the playground using elastic.

Can you name the 2-D shapes we made?

In Topic we have been learning about fossils and finding out that fossils are the remains of ancient life that have been preserved by natural processes.

The children were paleontologists for the afternoon and discovered their own dinosaur fossil!
