Following on from our learning in Science about living things and their habitats, today in Silver Birch we had a whole day learning about the rainforest.
We started the day listening to the different sounds of the rainforest and then went on a virtual trip to the Amazon. We looked at the different layers of the forest and the different creatures that live there. We thought about how they were adapted to living in the rainforest and even in a particular area - the emerging layer, the canopy, the understory and forest floor. Next was the task of designing our own rainforest creature that was adapted to life in the rainforest. There were some great creatures - have a look at the photos below.
We even attempted to make a cloud in a jar! It was a very small cloud but was good fun to try.
We had a very busy day and I'm sure everyone will enjoy the rest over half term!
