Spellings
This week we have done 2 maths assessments and a reading comprehension assessment. The children worked really hard on both mornings and tried their very best with some tricky questions. We wrote our Roman mystery stories, but beforehand discussed all the elements that make up an effective story. The children were so engaged with their stories that we will need to carry on with them next week as they were writing so much! In RE we finished our Sikhism unit by exploring the 5Ks - the uniform that a Khalsa Sikh wears. We ended the lesson with a discussion on is it right for a Sikh to carry a knife (a symbolism of protection and rights for a Sikh). In Topic we learnt more about volcanoes; how they are made and why some people choose to live near them. We used some ingredients such as baking powder and vinegar to represent an erupting volcano, however the lava was more brown than red even with food colouring!
Have a great weekend and keep warm,
Mrs Hall and Miss Laslett
