We have used the Elmer story as a fantastic basis for our learning again this week. During our Child Initiated learning the children are now making the most of our class resources having spent the last few weeks exploring what we have. Billy made some super dinosaurs out of the duplo and Alec and Ewan made a fab car tunnel out of a tube, while dressed as bees. We did some 'hot seating' where some of the children played the role of Elmer and the others asked questions.
In our maths we looked for objects longer and shorter and got the scales out and did some weighing thinking about the language we should use.
We also made some super Elmer biscuits using the coloured icing to make his patchwork body.
PE was fun, we played farmers and foxes and started to learn the rules of a game.
