Some of the class (those that weren't attending a sports event) had the opportunity this week to have a look around Elham Church. It was great to have the time to really explore and we read some really information on the church walls about how 6 poor children in the village (aged 8-14) were chosen and supported by the church in the 1800s - including them being allowed money for one set of new clothing every two years! One of them was then nominated for an apprenticeship - this led to a very interesting discussion as is always the case with Oak Class!
